How you’ll make an impact in this role Perform high complexity, detailed exams including first trimester screening, level II ultrasound, fetal echocardiogram, amniocentesis chorionic villus sampling, and multiples.
Requirements
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Medical Sonographer specializing in Obstetrics & Gynecology credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Credentialed in Fetal Echocardiography from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) within 24 months of hire date or job transfer date required.
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Responsibilities
- Scan high risk obstetric patients under the supervision of Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) physicians. Prepare examination reports and communicate clinical information and ultrasound findings to the physician.
- Perform high quality and comprehensive obstetric ultrasound exams in accordance with established departmental guidelines and protocols.
- Screen during first trimester for chromosomal and structural anomalies and transvaginal assessment of cervical length. Perform fetal echocardiography.
- Perform routine and comprehensive anatomy examinations including biophysical profiles and growth assessments.
- Assist with ultrasound guidance during invasive procedures including genetic amniocentesis, transvaginal and transcervical chorionic villus biopsy, and fetal blood transfusion. Educate patient on the ultrasound procedure.
- Exercise discretion and judgment in the performance of diagnostic exams. Adhere to the standard of care and maintain a safe environment.
