About The Position

This role involves operating diagnostic ultrasound equipment to assess a wide range of OB/GYN conditions with a focus on high risk pregnancies. Position requires strong experience in perinatal sonography with a vast knowledge and understanding of complex conditions and the ability to work independently. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to performing a variety of ultrasound examinations, evaluating the patient’s ability to tolerate procedures, communicating diagnostic results with other team members, performing advanced perinatal ultrasounds and fetal echocardiography, providing ultrasound guidance for procedures, documenting diagnostic and patient data within the medical record, and providing assistance with appropriate billing practices. The perinatal sonographer will also assist with schedule management, equipment maintenance, and quality assessment (QA) of the sonography team. Will participate in continuing education opportunities to enhance and improve technical skills of self and others.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in sonography from an accredited school, Bachelors degree preferred. Degree training completed at a hospital, vocational-technical institute, or military service.
  • Minimum of 3 or more years of OB/GYN sonography experience.
  • Current certification with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ADRMS) required.
  • Fetal Echocardiography certification required.
  • Certification and ongoing education for high risk obstetrical scans as appropriate required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Certification required.
  • Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology for accurate medical diagnosis as associated with ultrasound.
  • Competence in performing ultrasound procedures and services.
  • Ability to effectively operate all equipment utilized within the scope of a sonographer.
  • Accountability and attention to detail in the performance of duties.
  • Friendly and professional demeanor.
