The position involves performing Ultrasound procedures in accordance with established professional and departmental standards and procedures. The role requires the individual to demonstrate the ability to provide competent patient care across various patient populations, including Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric. The individual must maintain proper body mechanics when performing bedside and portable exams, which includes positioning and lifting patients, and the push/pull of the stretcher/bed/ultrasound unit. The position also requires the ability to respond to and withstand frequent crisis situations, work the assigned schedule, and utilize proper infection control practices per department policy.

  • Demonstrates behaviors that reflect understanding and support of the organizational values and mission.
  • Performs all exams within personal licensed scope of practice.
  • Demonstrates a complete working knowledge of all Ultrasound equipment used for diagnostic radiology and intra-procedural imaging.
  • Performs visual inspection of equipment, identifies problems and communicates to immediate supervisor.
  • Pleasantly greets patients, confirming their identification and introductions.
  • Explains examination procedure to the patient and their family if present.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient, employee and hospital information.
  • Recognizes emergency situations; initiates code procedures and administers first aid or CPR as needed.
  • Promotes patient safety in all actions.
  • Functions productively, responsibly and exhibits adaptability with the team.
  • High School diploma or equivalent education.
  • Completion of a CAAHEP accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program.
  • Credentialed in Vascular Testing from accepted registries or ARDMS, CCI, or ARRT eligible with one year sonography experience.
  • Completed BCLS certification.
