The position requires an understanding of growth and development principles to assess each patient's age-specific needs and provide appropriate care. The individual will demonstrate knowledge and skills to perform diagnostic Ultrasound procedures, recognizing both normal and abnormal anatomy and pathology. The role involves deviating from routine procedures when incidental abnormalities are identified and correlating clinical history with exam information. Proper patient identification and preparation for procedures are essential, along with maintaining current knowledge of techniques and equipment. The individual will adjust and operate equipment to ensure correct application for each study, transport patients to and from the department, and assist in general patient care. Additional responsibilities include answering phones, greeting and directing patients and visitors, and performing clerical duties. The use of PACS to maintain accurate records and transfer studies is also required. Positive communication and interpersonal skills are crucial to ensure excellent patient care.
