About The Position

Eastside Maternal-Fetal Medicine is a group of physicians, nurses, sonographers, dietitians, diabetic educators, and genetic counselors who provide obstetrical care and screening for pregnant women in Bellevue, WA and surrounding areas. We work with obstetricians and midwives in the local community to support maternal and fetal health in pregnancies that may be at increased risk of complication due to maternal age, pre-existing maternal conditions such as high blood pressure or diabetes, multiple gestation such as twins and triplets, and many other issues. We provide a screening service for low-risk pregnancies to ensure that every family has access to top quality ultrasound imaging and education regarding screening options. “Pediatrix is family focused and understands that we have a lot of working moms and encourages work-life balance. Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited sonography program with a degree in ultrasonography or equivalent.
• Maintain or be eligible for certification as an American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) in OB/GYN.
• Must provide evidence of continuing education credits to fulfill accreditation requirements.
• CPR certification required.
• Minimum six months experience as an ultrasound technician working in OB/GYN and/or MFM setting preferred.
• Skilled in operating ultrasound equipment.
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.

Nice To Haves

• NT Certification and Fetal Echo Certification are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for ultrasound examination.
• Explains procedures to the patient prior to scan and provides patient education materials.
• Conducts ultrasonic diagnostic procedures and records anatomical, pathological and/or physiological data for interpretation by a physician.
• Assists physician during invasive procedures requiring ultrasound guidance.
• Records and processes sonographic data and other pertinent observations made during the scan and present to the physician.
• Responsible for maintaining adequate inventory of ultrasound supplies and maintaining ultrasound equipment.
• Participates in professional development trainings.
• Maintain required certification and registries.
• Performs other assigned duties as directed.
