About The Position

UPMC Susquehanna Medical Group is seeking a Part-Time Sonographer to join our Maternal Fetal Medicine team. Requirements

Completion of a formal Ultrasound program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) required.
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) - Registered or registry-eligible preferred.
Completion of Physics portion of registry preferred.
Must obtain RDMS within 12 months of hire.
Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required.
Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting (with renewal)
Act 33 (with renewal)
Act 34 (with renewal)
Act 73 FBI Clearance (with renewal)
Skilled sonographer with strong technical knowledge and independent judgment.
Excellent communication and patient care skills.
Ability to work collaboratively and maintain a high level of professionalism.

Nice To Haves

Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) - Registered
Completion of Physics portion of registry

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of ultrasound procedures to assist in accurate medical diagnoses.
Communicate clearly with patients, explaining procedures and easing concerns.
Assist physicians with invasive procedures while adhering to universal protocol standards.
Ensure accurate coding, documentation, and image archiving for all exams.
Maintain high-level disinfection standards for devices and equipment.
Utilize advanced ultrasound instrumentation and demonstrate expertise in scanning techniques.
Correlate patient history, lab data, and physical findings to optimize imaging results.
