About The Position

The position involves preparing and performing various sonography studies per protocol and as ordered by the provider. The successful candidate will process studies to include preparation for interpretation by the physician and provide preliminary test results. Patient care must be provided in accordance with the standards specific to age and individual needs. The role also includes coordinating departmental QA initiatives, maintaining required competencies, developing educational activities, and facilitating the national accreditation process.

Requirements

  • Graduate of or currently enrolled in an allied health program is required.
  • Associates degree in allied health, applied science or completion of certificate/training program is preferred.
  • Experience in ultrasound/sonography preferred.
  • Certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) from the American Registry of Diagnostic Sonographers (ARDMS) or a Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) is required.
  • Must be eligible to sit for the RVT or RVS exam and obtain registry within 6 months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
