About The Position

The Sonographer I - Noninvasive Cardiology position at Summa Health involves working two 12-hour shifts on weekends, specifically Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with a pay structure that compensates for 32 hours. This role is crucial as it entails performing various echocardiograms, including Transesophageal (TTE) echo, Transthoracic (TTE) echo, stress echo, 3D, Doppler color Doppler, and Strain imaging echocardiograms in inpatient, outpatient, and off-site settings. Requirements

  • Completion of a Sonography program from an accredited school of ultrasound technology, or one year of full-time cardiac echocardiography experience, or completion of an approved Echo Trainee Program.
  • Registered in the field of experience (RVS, RVT, RDMS, RCS, RDCS).
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • Completion of an approved Echo sonography program.
  • Ability to make knowledgeable independent clinical assessments and judgments.
  • Ability to communicate and interact with respect towards patients, family members, and other personnel.

  • Experience in a clinical setting performing echocardiograms.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients and healthcare team.

Responsibilities

  • Independently perform echocardiograms at a professional level.
  • Conduct Transesophageal (TTE) echo, Transthoracic (TTE) echo, stress echo, 3D, Doppler color Doppler, and Strain imaging echocardiograms.
  • Assess and resolve scanning, technical, and patient care issues with limited supervision.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide high-quality echocardiogram examinations routinely.
  • Calibrate and operate echocardiography equipment.
  • Lift and transport patients and equipment as necessary.
  • Prioritize work and resolve problems independently.
  • React calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Work collaboratively as a team member.
