About The Position

A specialized cardiac sonographer who independently performs echocardiograms on a professional level including but not limited to; Transesophageal (TTE) echo, Transthoracic (TTE) echo, stress echo, 3D, Doppler color Doppler and Strain imaging echocardiograms in in-patient (IP), outpatient (OP) and off site settings. The results of these exams are used to directly impact the course of patient care.

Requirements

• Completion of a Sonography program from an accredited school of ultrasound technology.
• One (1) year of full-time cardiac echocardiography experience or completion of an approved Echo Trainee Program.
• Registered in field of experience (RVS, RVT, RDMS, RCS, RDCS).
• Basic Life Support certification.
• Ability to interact with patients and families with respect and dignity.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a clinical setting performing echocardiograms.
• Strong communication skills with healthcare professionals and patients.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform echocardiograms including TTE, TEE, stress echo, 3D, Doppler, and Strain imaging.
• Calibrate and operate echocardiography equipment.
• Make knowledgeable independent clinical assessments and judgments.
• Quickly assess and resolve scanning, technical, and patient care issues.
• Communicate and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
• Provide high-level professional quality echocardiogram examinations.
• Lift and transport patients and equipment as needed.
• Prioritize work and effectively resolve problems.
• React calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Work as a team member and interact respectfully with patients and staff.
