About The Position

This role will be working in Multiple locations and will primarily float to the following clinics: (Role will float to St Paul Wabasha, Woodbury, and Coon Rapids). Could include other locations in the future. OB/Gyn-Maternal Fetal Medicine POSITION PURPOSE: Service excellence is to be centered on patient care and patient relationships and is the responsibility of all employees. Requirements

  • Credentialing by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in OB/Gyn. Or
  • Registry eligible graduate of a CAAHEP accredited Ultrasound Program to attain appropriate credentialing of specialty within one year from graduation
  • NT & echo (fetal echocardiogram) certification and/or equivalent training required.
  • Written and oral communications skills

Nice To Haves

  • One year experience in OB/Gyn and knowledge of relative anatomy
  • Experience working in perinatal high risk OB setting is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Selects proper technical factors and operates equipment in a safe, effective manner, ensuring established protocol for quality control.
  • Documents and processes reports, organizes CDs or current image storage technologies, organizes VCR tapes/films, reviews finished exams for completeness, assists Sonologist/Maternal Fetal Medicine & specialty consulting clinicians with viewing and report of exams.
  • Keeps accurate records and statistics of all exams for Quality Control and patient outcomes.
  • Ensures an organized, safe and professional environment.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of anatomy. Uses independent judgment for exam comprehensives.
  • Is informed and knowledgeable regarding new technology. Implements new technology in department.
  • Follows strict OSHA standards in all areas, specifically in regards to cleaning equipment, transducers, along with documentation.
  • Contacts patients and referring providers and Maternal Fetal Medicine & specialty consulting clinicians as needed, e.g., results, follow-up, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Lead Sonographer and/or Sonologist.
  • Demonstrates clinical competence in using correct processes to provide care to patients and their families.
  • Implements established HealthPartners policies and procedures.
  • Provides support to patients and their families.
  • Documents patient information accurately and completely and keeps records regarding clinical practice.
  • Follows the imaging protocols set forth by their respective department.
  • Shares information with other members of the health care team.
  • Uses interdisciplinary resources to enhance own decision-making.
  • Solves problems appropriately seeking assistance from members of the HealthPartners team.
  • Uses appropriate systems, automated or manual, to obtain patient information and schedule appointments.
  • Engages in ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of teaching in terms of understanding and application.
  • Participates in patient care conferences, in-services and educational programs in the HealthPartners systeml and community.
  • Develops new opportunities, tools, and methods of learning/teaching.
  • Maintains ARDMS/CCI/ARRT Registration by completing required continuing education.
  • Serves as a role model in the enhancements of practice and professional conduct.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in performing additional responsibilities to contribute to the improvements in patient care and the functioning of the care unit and other support services.
  • Provides support to professional and technical staff.
  • Formulates and attains personal and professional goals which promote individual growth, the care unit philosophy and the HealthPartners mission.
