About The Position

The Sonographer at Apple Hill Imaging Center is responsible for performing a variety of routine diagnostic ultrasound procedures at a general skill level. This role involves working with patients to conduct various ultrasound examinations, ensuring patient comfort and safety, and maintaining equipment for optimal performance. The position requires adherence to compliance and privacy standards set by WellSpan Health.

Requirements

• Associates Degree Required
• Less than 1 year relevant experience required
• Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in one of the following: Abdomen, Breast, Fetal Echocardiography, Neurology, OBGYN, Pediatric Upon Hire Required
• Accredited program in ultrasound technology Upon Hire Required

Responsibilities

• Performs all ultrasound techniques and examinations such as abdominal scans, retroperitoneal scans, obstetric and gynecological scans, small parts and neonatal head scans, vascular scans, and assists with interventional procedures.
• Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations.
• Positions and transfers patients safely and comfortably and explains basic procedure.
• Selects proper technical factors on an individual patient basis.
• Selects and operates equipment as needed to perform required exams.
• Maintains equipment in efficient operating order; performs preventative maintenance on a regularly scheduled basis; contacts outside service for major malfunctions.
• Prepares and maintains written documentation as required by the profession and the department.
• Directs patients to rooms and obtains vitals of patients.
