About The Position

The Sommelier is responsible for leading the beverage program with a focus on exceptional guest experience, operational excellence, and strong financial performance. This role oversees wine cellar operations, staff beverage training, and guest-facing service on the restaurant floor. The Sommelier reports to the Food & Beverage leadership team and works closely with both front- and back-of-house employees to elevate the overall dining experience.

Requirements

• Excellent reading, writing, and verbal communication skills in English.
• Previous fine dining experience required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and POS systems.
• Comprehensive knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits.
• Strong understanding of beverage cost controls and beverage program management (preferred).

Nice To Haves

• Degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Beverage Management, or related field (preferred).
• Sommelier Certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Monitor and reconcile discrepancies in inventory, sales forecasts, and budget.
• Work collaboratively to foster teamwork, communication, and a positive work environment across all F&B departments.
• Provide professional floor service, recommending and serving beverage selections to guests.
• Ensure correct service temperature, glassware, and presentation standards for all beverages.
• Develop educational materials centered on wine knowledge, proper service, and professional standards.
• Attend trade tastings to stay current on new products, vintages, and industry trends.
• Manage and cultivate strong relationships with beverage suppliers, distributors, and industry partners.
• Support additional tasks or projects as assigned based on business and departmental needs.
