About The Position

Solvent Recovery Operations Technician You’ll be part of a people-first, family-driven, and financially strong organization where problem-solvers thrive. As a Solvent Recovery Operations Technician, you keep our CGE Recycle Program moving by safely de-drumming incoming waste and packaging reclaimed solvent while meeting rigorous safety, quality, and environmental standards. A day in the life You arrive for your evening shift within our flexible window between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. After a quick safety huddle, you stage incoming drums, verify labels, and begin de-drumming operations. Using approved equipment, you confirm each container is RCRA-empty and route it for proper disposal. Throughout the shift you maintain housekeeping, document activity in PRISM, and complete inspection check sheets. You coordinate turnover notes with the next operator and flag any maintenance or safety needs to your supervisor. Before clocking out, you finalize manifests and logs and prep the line for the next run. Pay and schedule Starting rate: $27/hour + $1.50 shift differential Flexible schedule as long as hours fall between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Requirements

  • Basic computer literacy; familiarity with MS Office.
  • Physical capability to lift/carry up to 100 lbs occasionally and 50 lbs frequently.
  • Stamina to stand for up to 12 hours per day.
  • Comfort climbing ladders and working at heights up to 50 feet on occasion.
  • Strong manual dexterity.

  • Forklift operation ability; prior experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Champion all safety programs and regulatory requirements in assigned areas.
  • Stage and de-drum incoming waste to support the CGE Recycle Program.
  • Operate approved tools to ensure drums are RCRA empty; route empty drums to correct disposal streams.
  • Keep work areas clean and orderly; follow established SOPs and use designated PPE at all times.
  • Fill, package, and label reclaimed products in approved containers, meeting all special packaging criteria.
  • Serve on the emergency response team and attend required trainings.
  • Complete required regulatory paperwork, inspections, and checklists in line with applicable rules.
  • Maintain compliance with RCRA, Title V, Air Permit, and OSHA requirements.
  • Participate in Environmental, Health & Safety and process-specific training.
  • Follow SOPs, use PPE correctly, and report any non-compliance; promptly report spills to the facility spill communication coordinator.
  • Immediately notify your supervisor of unsafe conditions.
  • Share status, challenges, and needs with fellow operators to ensure smooth turnover.
  • Communicate compliance, safety, and equipment needs to the shift supervisor or senior operator.
  • Complete daily and weekly inspection sheets.
  • Fill out logs, reports, manifests, and other assigned documentation.
  • Execute PRISM tasks for transfers, move tickets, material usage, PRISM logs, and work orders; manage raw and produced inventory; align with PRISM and ISO 9001:2000 SOPs per direction from the shift supervisor or senior operator.
  • Offer suggestions to improve SOPs and recycle-related equipment.
