About The Position

Apex's Solutions and Capabilities team is seeking a results-oriented Solutions Leader who will sell, design, and oversee delivery of high-quality solutions and services to our clients in the Data area. This position reports to the Global Head of Data and works closely with other Solutions Leaders, Account Mangers, Industry, Practice and Geography partners, Engagement Managers, and consultants to identify and pursue new business opportunities, propose, and scope services engagements, and ensure successful project execution. As a Solutions Leader, you will provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise as well as oversight throughout the engagement delivery. You will also be part of nourishing and growing our Solutions capability by building out offerings, developing content, and contributing to the growth of the practice through coaching and mentoring others.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with concentration in Computer Science or Information Systems.
  • 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering roles including experience designing, developing, and delivering data and analytics solutions for clients.
  • 3+ years of experience in a client-facing role in professional services or consulting; experience in pre-sales, solution design and/or sales highly preferred.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, demonstrated ability to provide project oversight
  • Expert-level knowledge and skills in Data frameworks, tools, best practices, and trends with significant experience in architecting and delivering enterprise Data solutions.
  • Experience required with a wide variety of tools and technologies to deliver these services such as Snowflake, Kafka, Tableau, Splunk, Elasticsearch, Databricks, Cloudera, MongoDB and others
  • Must have experience moving data workloads to one or more cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and delivering data services via Agile methodology. Experience in a multi-cloud or hybrid environment is also helpful
  • Understanding of key aspects of Data and Analytics such as Data Engineering, Analytics and Visualization, DataOps, Master Data Management, and Data Governance
  • Experience required with a wide variety of tools and technologies to deliver these services such as Snowflake, Kafka, Tableau, Splunk, Elasticsearch, Databricks, Cloudera, MongoDB and others
  • Ability to define, propose and implement an enterprise data architecture
  • Demonstrated ability to succeed in a role focused on the achievement of sales targets preferred.
  • Relevant demonstrated thought leadership: presentations, articles, lectures, blogs, etc.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills; demonstrated ability to provide project oversight.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, the ability to influence and persuade stakeholders and decision-makers, and an ability to communicate complex ideas to all levels of the business.
  • Strong business acumen, analytical, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to think strategically and creatively.
  • Proven leadership, management, and team-building skills, and the ability to mentor and coach others.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and adaptable, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed to support client sales opportunities and engagements, expected travel up to 10%.
  • Willingness and ability to work regularly in the office preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA preferred
  • Specialization in topics like Strategic Data Assessments, Data as a Service, and Data Monetization is helpful
  • Understanding of other key solution areas such as Cloud, DevOps, AI, and Cybersecurity as they pertain to Data and Analytics
  • Relevant certifications are nice to have, but obtaining certifications while in the role will be an expectation

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business leaders to create and execute a strategy for positioning Apex's Data solution capabilities to win in the market. Design and develop new services and offerings that align with the market needs and Apex's Solution Organization's vision and strategy.
  • In collaboration with leadership, partner with the marketing team to develop and maintain marketing materials, content, collateral and field sales enablement content and tools.
  • Build out execution toolkits, templates, and methodologies to support the delivery of these services and offerings and create deliverable templates to facilitate repeatable project execution.
  • Continuously stay on top of trends and emerging insights to enable innovative solution development
  • Represent Apex as a thought leader in functional and industry communities, events, published articles, and other channels, as well as develop strategy and core themes across such channels.
  • Establish and maintain trusted and long-term relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and act as a trusted advisor and partner.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified leads and opportunities and manage the sales cycle in partnership with the account team from qualifying to closing, then launching into execution.
  • Act as key advisor in bid and proposal efforts: proposing solutions, engagement structure, pricing, staffing plans, and team design, and providing work effort estimation.
  • Eliminate sales obstacles using creative and adaptive approaches.
  • Develop and implement innovative and customized solutions that address the clients business challenges and objectives and deliver measurable value and outcomes.
  • Support engagement success during the delivery phase by providing leadership and high-level oversight of Data projects to ensure successful delivery of the overall technical solution for the client. May also perform hands-on technical activities on select projects as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with clients, recruiters, and engagement and account team members to ensure the recruitment and retention of highly qualified project resources.
  • Collaborate closely with leadership to mentor and coach others, provide performance feedback, and advise practice leadership to ensure Apex has the internal talent to drive successful engagements and grows and develops existing talent to meet client needs.
