About The Position

Balance is seeking a highly skilled Solutions Engineer to drive technical pre-sales activities and align our B2B payment infrastructure with prospective clients' business objectives. In this capacity, you will serve as the primary technical advisor during the sales cycle, bridging the gap between financial technology and client operational requirements. You will play a critical role in demonstrating the value of our platform, ensuring that our proposed solutions are technically viable, secure, and scalable.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline is required.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in Sales Engineering or a related technical advisory role within the Fintech or B2B SaaS sectors.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of web technologies, specifically RESTful APIs, webhooks, and data exchange formats (JSON/XML). Ability to interpret API documentation and troubleshoot integration scenarios is essential.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional presentation skills, with the ability to lead high-stakes technical demonstrations for executive audiences (CTO, VP Engineering, CFO).

Responsibilities

  • Technical Consultation & Discovery: Conduct in-depth discovery sessions with prospective clients to assess their current technology stack, payment workflows, and integration requirements.
  • Proof of Concept (POC) Management: Lead the scoping, execution, and delivery of Proof of Concepts, ensuring key success criteria are met to facilitate deal closure.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a strategic liaison between clients and the Product/Engineering teams, articulating market feedback and feature requirements to influence the product roadmap.
  • Integration Strategy: Define the technical implementation strategy for new clients, ensuring a seamless handover to the Customer Success and Integration teams.
