About The Position

Markon is seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to support an enterprise Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) program. In this role, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, developers, cybersecurity professionals, system architects, and testers to deliver secure, scalable authentication solutions. This position requires strong technical leadership, collaboration, and hands-on experience with cloud and PKI technologies.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree and a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience
  • Significant experience in system architecture and engineering
  • Familiarity with enterprise-level systems within the sponsor environment
  • Working knowledge of PKI certificates and related concepts
  • Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and/or Oracle Cloud)
  • Hands-on experience with Linux (command line interface)
  • Proficiency in scripting/programming languages such as Bash and Python
  • Experience working in Agile environments and using tools such as Jira

Nice To Haves

  • Deep understanding of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), including:
  • Digital certificates, Certificate Authorities (CAs), Registration Authorities (RAs)
  • Key management practices, cryptographic algorithms
  • Certificate revocation and trust chains
  • Experience with configuration and automation tools (e.g., CloudFormation, Puppet, Groovy)
  • Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, Oracle)
  • Experience with Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with container technologies
  • Experience troubleshooting network connectivity between cloud and on-premises environments
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible or Terraform
  • Knowledge of Web Application Firewall (WAF) configuration and management
  • Strong networking knowledge (ports, routing, subnets, VPNs, firewalls, routers), including design, integration, and troubleshooting
  • Experience working in AWS or other cloud-based environments

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance and direction to system engineers and developers
  • Deliver regular status updates to the contract PMO and government staff lead
  • Support preparation of monthly Program Management Review (PMR) materials
  • Represent the team in staff meetings, requirements discussions, technical lead meetings, and Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs)
  • Participate in community-wide working groups and coordinate responses to action items on behalf of the sponsor
  • Shepherd new requirements through the sponsor’s requirements process and pipeline
  • Ensure system designs align with enterprise architecture and security requirements
  • Collaborate with security engineers to address and mitigate findings from system security scans
  • Prepare communications for upcoming system releases
  • Partner with government and project leadership to prioritize work efforts
  • Coordinate with Cloud Service Providers to meet PKI requirements
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance authentication and security posture across sponsor systems
