About The Position

Two openings: o 1 Contract-to-Hire (6 months → potential full-time) o 1 Long-term Contractor (through 2026) • Goal: Fill both roles quickly; one candidate submission per vendor per role. • Deadline: All candidates must be submitted by end of day next Friday. • Position: Solution Architect (enterprise-level) • Hands-on coding: Minimal; occasional small-scope coding possible. • Major upcoming focus: Mainframe retirement initiative o Analyze existing mainframe capabilities. o Define requirements for new distributed systems. o Produce high-level designs for replacement solutions. • Preferred experience: o IDesign methodology (highly preferred; required for contractor, trainable for contract-to-hire). o .NET familiarity (team is moving toward .NET). o Azure knowledge is helpful but not mandatory. o EA tools: Familiarity with LeanIX is a plus. o Standard architecture tools: PowerPoint, Visio, M365, Azure DevOps. • Not required: o COBOL or mainframe coding experience. o Security certifications (OWASP reference was a legacy artifact). • With these hires, the team will have 5 architects. • Extended collaboration group: 10–12 people.

Responsibilities

  • High-level solution design and architecture.
  • Work intake analysis (initiatives, epics, proposed work).
  • Technical liaison for vendor engagements.
  • Software assessments.
  • Integration design with external partners.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional architects (security, cloud, infrastructure).
  • Potential technical lead responsibilities on small efforts.
  • Analyze existing mainframe capabilities.
  • Define requirements for new distributed systems.
  • Produce high-level designs for replacement solutions.
