Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies, Texas, Inc. is offering exciting summer internships for college students who have completed at least their sophomore year. We provide a supportive and collaborative teaching environment to help interns develop their skills and pinpoint their career goals. This opportunity offers invaluable experience with an industry-leading biopharmaceutical contract development manufacturing organization. Interns will work under the guidance of a department manager on a project focused on enhancing current processes and improving efficiency. Internships typically run from mid-May to August, with specific dates determined collaboratively between the intern, their supervisor, and Human Resources. The Solution Prep Logistics Intern will be assigned to the staging area and cleaning services, and will be support for logistics and creating standard of work for areas. Start Date: This internship is set to begin on May 19th, 2025 for an 11-week duration ending on August 8th 2025. Relocation: Please note this Internship Opportunity is designed to be 100% Onsite, 40 hours/week and a relocation/housing stipend is not provided.

  • Utilizing lean manufacturing tools develop the lifecycle of consumables and raw materials that are used in the manufacturing space for production.
  • Develop ways of reducing the amount of time materials are handled manually from handoff to production, eliminating non value added work.
  • Establish and create a JIT (Just In Time) system for the staging area to reduce inventory in the staging area to allow for ease of flow and streamlining of production material.
  • Create a standard of work for receiving picks, and identify gaps in the process, and areas that could be improved with lean principles.
  • Develop a standard of work for cleaning types for each room in the facility, along with implementing lean principles into current cleaning practices.
  • Observe cleaning types in rooms (specifically TBF), identify non value added items that are being done outside the scope of the SOP, and remove non value added items.
  • Utilize lean tools such as spaghetti graphs to identify extra manual items that are being completed during cleaning that are not required or could be reduced.
  • Create a standard of work for each room in TBF for each cleaning type prescribed to the room.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Full-time Undergraduate who has completed their sophomore year, or Graduate student, preferably in Engineering or Science with a background or interest in business or finance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office applications including Excel and Word.
  • Ability to go into labs and/or cleanrooms and dress in appropriate attire if required.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and self-motivation.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Some knowledge of biotech/biopharma is preferred.
