About The Position

About the Role Act as a primary source of technical expertise for system projects. Complete the installation of system equipment and ensure applications/solutions are functioning according to specifications. Interact with the customers and /or users regarding products that are highly technical and sophisticated in nature. Provide technical expertise through sales presentations, product demonstrations, installation and maintenance of company products. Assist sales staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs and preparing detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer applications/solutions. What makes a successful Solution Delivery Engineer? Participate in both pre-sale and post-sale technical support activities including, but not limited to, assessment of client needs, preparation of product specifications for development and installation. For all projects, create system design documents meeting customer requirements and manage all technical aspects of the project through completion. Serve as technical liaison between the project management office, development engineering, manufacturing operations, and the customer's technical staff. Write installation and application notes that provide customers with guidelines for performing upgrades, maintenance, and product integration in the field. Familiar with the contents of agreements and contracts that pertain to the project under management. Participate in the design review process as required. Provide system level trouble shooting and technical skills with the highest level of problem solving. Complete the installation of system equipment at client locations, including completion of IT cabling as required. Ensure accurate and timely system testing and recording of faults as required by the project. Ensure accurate and timely production of engineering design documentation including, but not limited to, as-built system documentation, customer needs assessment, requirements trace matrix, acceptance test procedures, bills of materials, installation and commissioning documents, and detailed upgrade procedures. Assess and respond to situations where standard procedures have failed in isolating or fixing problem equipment; collaborate with other teams as needed to devise solutions. Accurately maintain project and QA records including, but not limited to, fault records, test result sheets, configured records, and technical documentation. Provide technical expertise to the Project Manager and be able to converse with the customer, system sales, the development engineering function and manufacturing to ensure the customer’s expectations and technical requirements are met. Provide detailed task list, labor hour estimates and progress reports, both orally and in writing to the Project Manager Report design, reliability, maintenance problems and product manual corrections/improvements to engineering for review via an engineering change process system and through direct consultation as assigned. On an occasional basis may be required to conduct reseller and end-user training programs. Supports efforts for the planning, execution, monitoring, and documentation of laboratory assignments necessary for the verification of customer issues and continuous improvement efforts. Required to perform the job functions in a safe manner. Other duties as assigned by the Company

Requirements

  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas: radio integration systems, telephony systems, IP data networking;
  • Intermediate computer skills including but not limited to databases, DOS based PC’s, Window based PC’s, and VoIP Networks.
  • Comprehensive understanding of networks including, LAN, WAN, and TCP/IP concepts
  • Knowledge of and ability to install system equipment into IT equipment rooms or console furniture, as well as install and terminate standard IP cabling such as CAT5/6.
  • Proficiency with the use of test equipment such as telephone simulators, lineman handsets, digital multimeter (DMM), required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to convey information clearly and accurately.
  • Problem-solving ability and active listening skills.
  • Ability to determine solutions to complex problems.
  • Must possess and maintain valid work state’s Driver’s License; driving records must be maintained in good standing.
  • Must be able to drive as part of performing job duties.
  • Must be willing and able to pass background check as required, as entry to a customer site may be contingent, by contract, finger printing and/or ongoing background screen.
  • Minimum two to three (2-3) years of hands-on experience in related field, or Associate’s degree in Electronics and Computer Sciences or equivalent, and some customer-facing experience.
  • Or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent expertise.

Nice To Haves

  • Skill managing Windows 10 & 11 operating systems is a plus.
  • Preferred to have skills with critical communication systems; including land mobile radio, dispatch, telephony, IP network protocols, and call taking systems for public safety first responders and similar applications.
  • Proficiency with XML and Microsoft SQL preferred.
