About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and talented Solution Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have over 12 years of experience in system architecture design, with a strong emphasis on technical and functional design. The Solution Architect will play a critical role in defining, developing, and maintaining the architecture. Knowledge of any of the NYC Department of Education systems such as Accessible Tool for Learning About Students (ATLAS) application or SESIS (Special Education Student Information System or CAP Legacy system ("Child Assistance Program" or "Child Assessment Program") This position requires expertise in various development languages, frameworks, and technologies, including .Net8, Angular, and SQL Server. The Solution Architect will also work closely with clients, attend meetings as needed, and ensure development best practices are adhered to.

Requirements

• Minimum of 12 years of experience in solution architecture, application development, and system design.
• Knowledge of any of the NYC Department of Education systems such as Accessible Tool for Learning About Students (ATLAS) application or SESIS (Special Education Student Information System or CAP Legacy system ("Child Assistance Program" or "Child Assessment Program")
• Strong technical skills in the following development languages: C#, SQL, Typescript, CSS, JSON.
• Proficiency in frameworks such as .Net8, Angular, KendoUI, and Entity Framework.
• Experience with databases such as SQL Server and Redis.
• Expertise in reporting and visualization tools such as Cognos, HTML Grids, and HTML Charts.
• Proficient with development tools including Office 365, Visual Studio, SQL Server Studio, GIS, Bootstrap, TFS, GitHub, CI/CD, Hangfire, SeriLog, and BrowserStack.
• In-depth knowledge of operating systems, particularly Windows.
• Strong understanding of performance, security, and quality objectives in system design.
• Proven ability to oversee the creation of project plans, task assignments, and timelines.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with clients, stakeholders, and team members effectively.

• Experience with cloud-based technologies and applications.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and project management tools.

Responsibilities

• Define and design the system architecture ensuring that it meets functional and technical requirements.
• Analyze the system architecture across the enterprise to ensure integration and alignment with business needs.
• Develop and maintain system procedures, processes, and designs to ensure the continuous improvement and functionality of the ATLAS application.
• Ensure the architecture meets performance, security, and quality objectives while adhering to industry standards and compliance requirements.
• Conduct code reviews, ensuring adherence to development best practices and identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Oversee the creation of project plans, task assignments, and timelines for the development team.
• Act as a technical lead on projects, providing guidance and support to developers and other team members.
• Collaborate with internal teams and clients to gather requirements, address technical challenges, and implement solutions.
• Attend client meetings as needed to discuss requirements, progress, and provide updates on system architecture.
