About The Position

Solution Architect to support customer channels architecture, specifically the US Customer Platform. Looking for a Solution Architect with experience working with business and technology teams to define complex multi-application solutions. The successful candidate will assist in defining solutions for a predominantly custom-built platform. The platform participates in a large ecosystem of custom- and SaaS-provided applications. The Solution Architect will be required to interpret business objectives and requirements into technology solutions that adhere to the strategic direction. The Solution Architect will be required to understand and provide guidance on the technical aspects of the solution, and will often work closely with the Technology team partners. The SA will need to look at a problem from a number of angles to assess the most strategic and/or appropriate way of solving the problem. The Solution Architect will: Take direction from Senior Architects within the team. Work closely with other enterprise architects, business, and technology delivery partners to define and contribute to both high-level (for estimation) and detailed solutions (for delivery). Prepare architecture blueprints / designs. Prepare diagrams and other artefacts to support solution discussions and communicate decisions. Perform options analyses and document Architecture Assessment of Options. Ensure alignment to, and promote advancement of, the Architecture Vision for the domain.

Requirements

  • Expert knowledge of architecture for own technology, tools, processes and procedures and broader organization issues and technology
  • Advanced knowledge of TD applications, programming languages, industry best practices, business/ organization, Bank standards, infrastructure, architecture
  • Works autonomously on complex, highly visible architecture projects / initiatives
  • Manages / directs activities related to analysis and design of architecture on larger, high risk / complex projects
  • Acts as an expert resource in the exchange of architectural information for project teams, the business and/or outside vendors
  • Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate
  • 7+ years relevant experience

Familiarity with Java, Angular, Azure, OIDC, REST, Kafka/Events, relational and non-SQL databases (including MongoDB), Redis, and data driven design.
  • Familiarity with Azure & GCP AI/ML services, LLM, Agent/Agentic architecture, Azure AI Services, Azure AI Foundry, GCP Vertex AI, GCP Agent Space, RAG, Azure AI Search
  • Have experience in defining and designing solutions that participate in microservice, micro front-end, and event-based architectures and experience working on customer-facing digital applications.

Responsibilities

  • Take direction from Senior Architects within the team.
  • Work closely with other enterprise architects, business, and technology delivery partners to define and contribute to both high-level (for estimation) and detailed solutions (for delivery).
  • Prepare architecture blueprints / designs.
  • Prepare diagrams and other artefacts to support solution discussions and communicate decisions.
  • Perform options analyses and document Architecture Assessment of Options.
  • Ensure alignment to, and promote advancement of, the Architecture Vision for the domain.
  • Designs and/or develops an architecture framework including technology domain architecture strategy, policies, ‘guiding principles’ and standards to govern how technology solutions will be developed and implemented
  • Researches/analyzes business requirements to evaluate and recommend optimal solutions within technology architecture
  • Reviews project detailed solution architecture and design ensuring it meets requirements / complies with the architectural and security standards, patterns and frameworks and provide sign-off on the detailed design
  • Contributes to the development of project plans by providing input and manage projects / initiatives by directing assigned resources, communicating project status and providing timely escalation of issues
  • Provides expert consultation and participate as a subject matter expert on projects of moderate to high risk and complexity
  • Conducts pre and post implementation reviews, ensuring all technical solutions have met business requirements
  • Supports the development, documentation, communication and execution of a comprehensive strategy, policies and solutions
  • Adheres to enterprise frameworks or methodologies that relate to activities for area
  • Ensures projects are compliant with technology domain architecture and design/operate processes to provide ongoing review of in progress activity against technology architecture and development standards
  • Protects/enhances the security, availability of technology, brand integrity and shareholder value by establishing parameters for continued investment in technology solutions, and providing technical risk analysis / assessment
  • Identifies enhancements and gaps in architectural frameworks, standards and patterns to raise issues for inclusion in future versions
  • Complies with well-defined enterprise technology delivery practices and standards and project management disciplines - including creation of project documentation of system requirements, estimates of scope and cost
  • Contributes to and/or develops the process by which decisions will be made regarding technology standards
  • Ensures respective programs/ policies/practices are well managed, meets business needs, complies with internal and external requirements, and aligns with business priorities
  • Actively seeks and supports continuous improvement and automation opportunities within the testing process
  • Protects the interests of the organization – identify and manage risks, and escalate non-standard, high risk activities as necessary
  • Keeps abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts
  • Maintains a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite
