About The Position

The position involves integrating database creation, operations, and management into application patterns and automation for both relational and non-relational databases. The candidate should have experience with database creation and configuration as part of a standard application vending machine. Familiarity with general database solutions on AWS, including Amazon RDS (PostGreSQL), NoSQL, and warehousing solutions like RedShift, is essential. Additionally, the role requires incorporating database management tools, preferably DBMaestro, into CI/CD pipelines, with a preference for experience in Github Actions. The candidate will also automate the configuration of database tools and management as part of service catalog item creation and onboard teams to this process. Knowledge transfer of standard database management operations and tooling to the Pilot platform engineering team is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

• Experience with database creation and configuration as part of a standard application vending machine.
• Familiarity with AWS database solutions including Amazon RDS (PostGreSQL), NoSQL, and RedShift.
• Experience with database management tools, preferably DBMaestro.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably using Github Actions.
• Ability to automate configuration of database tools and management.
• Strong analytical skills to resolve complex issues without supervision.
• Developed communication skills to exchange complex information.

Responsibilities

• Integrate database creation, operations, and management into application patterns and automation for relational and non-relational databases.
• Experience with general database solutions on AWS including Amazon RDS (PostGreSQL), NoSQL, and warehousing solutions like RedShift.
• Incorporate database management tools (DBMaestro preferred) into CI/CD pipelines (Github Actions preferred).
• Enable standard configurability out of the box leveraging selected service catalog tools (ServiceNow, Backstage).
• Automate configuration of database tools and management as part of service catalog item creation.
• Onboard teams to the database management process.
• Transfer knowledge of standard database management operations and tooling to the Pilot platform engineering team.
