About The Position

Handex is preparing for new projects throughout 2026 and beginning our recruitment for Solids Dewatering Technicians for our Industrial Services Travel Team. As a Solids Dewatering Technician, you will assist with Industrial projects in dewatering and processing operations at our client's sites in the North/South East and Midwest regions. Handex Consulting & Remediation, LLC is a full-service environmental company focused on providing professional environmental consulting, remediation, construction and sludge dewatering services in the United States. Founded in 1968, we have over 58+ years of experience and have no intentions of slowing down!

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Proven experience successfully working at remote project sites in solids dewatering, industrial, services, remediation, wastewater, manufacturing, emergency response clean up or chemical operations a plus.
  • Willingness to travel (North/South East and Midwest regions) and work effectively at remote project sites, including 12-hour shifts along with flexible rotational schedules, including nights, weekends, and overtime.
  • Excellent team players with good communication skills, reliability, and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Comfortable being in an industrial/refinery setting both indoors and outside as well as confined spaces and able to lift 50 lbs.
  • TWIC card and 40 Hour OSHA a plus. If not, will be required to obtain.
  • Candidates must be based in the Northeast, Southeast, or Midwest regions to support project assignments and operational needs.
  • Must pass pre-employment background checks which include: physical/drug/alcohol/MVR/criminal.

Nice To Haves

  • Centrifuge, dredging or filter press experience highly desiable.
  • Military industrial/mechanical experience a plus.
  • TWIC card and 40 Hour OSHA a plus. If not, will be required to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • As part of our HIS team, you will travel to various client sites throughout the North/Southeast and Midwest regions and assist with various industrial and dewatering/sludge removal projects.
  • Receive work direction from the on-site supervisor, follow instructions carefully, maintain open and effective communication to ensure smooth and efficient operations, and proactively handle any challenges.
  • Operate hand and power tools, mechanical equipment, and perform tasks which may include pumps, centrifuges, dredges, belt presses, and filtration systems.
  • Learn, understand, and comply with all safety work practices, policies, and procedures at all times.
  • Accurately maintain and promptly process expenses and timesheets.
  • Consistently represent Handex in a professional manner while assigned to projects, collaborate effectively with teammates, and maintain respectful and positive working relationships with the team.
