Under general supervision, performs work of average difficulty in the operation of transfer station equipment and in the operation, maintenance, and repair of county transfer station facilities. Responsibilities include measuring and determining tire loads, collecting and disposing of solid waste and dead animals, assisting in the removal and disposal of dead trees, and abating hazardous waste sites. The position also involves handling cash, giving change, and maintaining daily written logs. Additional duties include operating motor vehicles and equipment not requiring a CDL, assisting in community clean-up operations, and performing other job-related duties as assigned.
