Anchorage, Soldotna, Wasilla salary: $3,535.20 Fairbanks salary: $3,641.60 Juneau salary: $3,712.00 What you will be doing: This is a managerial position in the Solid Waste Program within ADEC. The position supervises four staff. The focus of this position will be management of staff working on rural municipal landfills (Class 3 landfills). Our mission is to protect public health and the environment by ensuring that landfills in Alaska are operated and maintained in compliance with State regulations and our Program's goals. We strive to work cooperatively with landfill Operators and Owners on finding solutions through leveraging resources and working collaboratively with others in order to achieve the common goal of having a landfill that is protective of human health and the environment. We are a small team within the Department, but we have a proven history of success with meeting and exceeding the goals that we set for ourselves in order to achieve our mission. The working environment you can expect: This position is being recruited statewide, and the position may be located in the Anchorage, Fairbanks, Juneau, Wasilla, or Soldotna DEC Offices. This position will have an assigned office. The incumbent will interact with Solid Waste staff in the Fairbanks, Juneau, and Anchorage offices.
