About The Position

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), is seeking a Solid Waste Landfill Gas Technician for their St. Louis, MO office. The role involves working on a variety of diverse environmental projects related to landfill gas collection and control systems, with the majority of time spent in the field and traveling to and from sites. Requirements

  • 2+ years of basic knowledge of principles and practices related to the operation of landfill systems
  • Will work as a member of a project team(s) to complete specific assignments at municipal solid waste landfill(s) in Midwest
  • Willing to work in the beautiful outdoors a majority of the time
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Word and Excel and working with Android other technology will be necessary with the associated work
  • Ability to travel for out-of-town work

Nice To Haves

  • 40-hour HAZWOPER training preferred

Responsibilities

  • Under general supervision operate, monitor, and maintain landfill gas migration control/recovery systems
  • Collect data from wellfield extraction and environmental monitoring locations
  • Perform wellfield valve/vacuum adjustments, data collection and maintenance; interpret data
  • Assist with small construction projects including pipe and valve installation
  • Use Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) or High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) piping materials and associated equipment to perform maintenance on piping systems
  • Provide on-call response to GCCS related malfunction event(s)
  • Perform surface emission monitoring
