We have an exciting and challenging opportunity for a qualified solicitor to join our Legal Services Department. You may be an experienced lawyer or a newly qualified solicitor with a strong desire to make a real difference to the communities of Merseyside. The Legal Services Department provides legal advice and representation to the Chief Constable, covering operational advice, orders, and commercial law. As part of our Operations Team, you will provide real-time advice to officers and staff across a wide range of operational policing areas, including: Use of police powers Proceeds of Crime Act applications Civil Preventative Orders to protect the public from Domestic Violence, Modern Slavery, Anti-Social Behaviour, Stalking, and Sexual Offences Ideally, you will have advocacy experience, preferably in magistrates’ courts for civil applications.
