About The Position

In this pivotal role, you will act as the primary legal advisor across all facets of the organization, providing guidance on labor and employment matters, commercial contracts, and corporate governance. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to mitigate legal risks, support strategic initiatives, and ensure regulatory compliance. Operating in a fast-paced, fully remote environment, you will influence organizational growth while shaping internal policies, processes, and best practices. Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. state; California licensure strongly preferred
  • 4–7 years of legal experience, with significant in-house or law firm exposure in labor & employment, commercial contracts, and organizational/corporate matters
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex legal issues into practical business guidance
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Negotiation and interpersonal skills with a collaborative, solution-focused approach
  • Proactive problem-solving mindset and high attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with international labor and employment law or cross-border contract negotiations
  • Familiarity with legal technology solutions for contract management and compliance
  • Prior experience in professional services, digital marketing, or related industries
  • California licensure or experience practicing in California

Responsibilities

  • Provide counsel on labor and employment matters, including hiring, termination, disciplinary actions, wage and hour compliance, leaves of absence, anti-discrimination laws, and workplace investigations
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize a broad range of commercial contracts, including vendor, sales, service, NDA, freelance, and licensing agreements
  • Manage intellectual property-related issues for developed and licensed software
  • Advise on corporate governance, organizational structure, entity management, internal policies, and compliance matters
  • Oversee employment-related claims, demands, and litigation, collaborating with external counsel when needed
  • Develop, implement, and refine legal department processes to ensure efficiency and risk mitigation
  • Stay up to date on federal, state, and international laws to proactively manage legal exposure
