About The Position

Under supervision of the production supervisor of the solder department and using a soldering iron (pencil type), solders wires onto a variety of components.

Requirements

  • Able to distinguish colors.
  • Able to read small print and read a ruler.
  • Have excellent manual dexterity.
  • Grasp a soldering iron and hold solder for eight (8) or more hours per day.
  • Sit for eight (8) or more hours per day.
  • Able to lift and carry 25 lbs. on a repeated basis.
  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends.
  • Have the ability to work with arms at shoulder level for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to Bend head and neck at an angle to view through a halo light or scope to solder very small components.
  • Must be a U.S. person as defined in ITAR, 22 CFR 120.15 (U.S. Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident) and defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101(a) (20

Nice To Haves

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)
  • Assembly Experience: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Mechanical Knowledge: 3 years (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Bend wires and mechanically attach to components.
  • Tin the wire
  • Read instruction sheets
  • Call for In Process Inspection when applicable.
  • Fill out traveler paperwork.
  • Make suggestions on improving the processes.
  • Solder wire.
  • Remove solder and rework.
  • Hand strip as required.
  • Perform special assignments and other duties as required.
