About The Position

The SolarWinds Engineer will be responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and managing SolarWinds Orion® products to ensure optimal performance and availability. This includes working with various modules such as Network Performance Monitor, Server & Application Monitor, Virtualization Manager, NetFlow Traffic Analyzer, Log Analyzer, and Database Performance Analyzer. The role involves performing regular system health checks, diagnosing and resolving complex technical problems, maintaining comprehensive documentation, providing training and support to team members, and implementing service improvements using the full capabilities of SolarWinds.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of professional experience.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience administering and supporting the SolarWinds platform.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including networking, servers, virtualization, databases, and applications.
  • Familiarity with common network protocols: TCP, UDP, HTTP, HTTPS, SNMP.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash, SQL).
  • Experience with cloud-based monitoring solutions.
  • Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks (e.g., ITIL).

Nice To Haves

  • SolarWinds Certified Professional highly desired.
  • Telecom industry experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, maintain and manage SolarWinds Orion® products.
  • Perform regular system health checks, including performance monitoring and log analysis.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical problems related to the SolarWinds platform.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of the SolarWinds environment.
  • Document all changes and updates to the SolarWinds platform.
  • Provide training and support to team members using the SolarWinds application.
  • Generate and analyze reports to improve system performance and reliability.
  • Configure SolarWinds to meet organizational needs and perform regular maintenance.
  • Act as point of escalation for outages of the SolarWinds system.
  • Implement service improvements/enhancements using SolarWinds capabilities.
