This position is critical as the 26 NOS is responsible for the intranet support of the entire Air Force network, which includes operating and defending the Air Force Enterprise computer network. The mission encompasses managing the AF Wide Area Network (WAN) routers, AF Network Increment 1 (AFNET Inc 1) Gateways, and the 26 NOS Local Area Network (LAN) assets. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in monitoring SolarWinds and other enterprise network monitoring tools, as well as NetFlow analysis, particularly in commercial and DoD environments. Responsibilities will include maintaining valid system and application certificates, managing F5 load balancing local traffic management (LTM), and ensuring two-factor authentication (2FA) within a PKI smart card environment. The integrator will also monitor, troubleshoot, and analyze the overall health of four separate SolarWinds instances, utilizing SQL, SWQL, SNMP, WMI, and SSH to manage the USAF global WAN. Additionally, the role involves overseeing the Orion Platform Suite for Federal Government, which includes various monitoring tools such as Server & Application Monitor (SAM), Virtualization Manager (VMAN), and Network Performance Monitor (NPM). The candidate will assess current SolarWinds implementations across networks and recommend changes to distributed deployments, including SQL databases and custom applications. They will perform root cause analysis, recommend tactical and strategic solutions, and create PowerShell scripts for efficient performance checks. Documentation of the design and engineering steps for SolarWinds systems is also a key responsibility, along with installing and patching operating systems and applications while adhering to DISA Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs).
