About The Position

The Solar Tech Lead is responsible for overseeing the startup, monitoring, and shutdown of solar power generating facilities. This role involves performing maintenance, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and leading work crews. The position requires technical expertise in electrical systems and the ability to manage operations effectively while maintaining logs and records of facility conditions.

Requirements

  • Possess a 2-year technical degree or equivalent Journeyman certification/qualifications.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical/construction projects, with at least 1 year as a Lead Technician or Project Manager.
  • Proven knowledge of complex analog and digital instrumentation and control systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and adjust instruments and control systems.
  • Strong communication skills for clear verbal and written directives.
  • Proficiency in using personal computers and standard business software, including MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Perform local plant and unit startup, monitoring, and shutdown.
  • Prepare and implement clearances and switching (emergency and routine).
  • Conduct pre-operational and performance testing and return to service.
  • Perform emergency, preventive, and predictive maintenance on PV Solar power generating equipment.
  • Maintain logs and records of operating conditions and report irregularities.
  • Perform diagnostic and routine maintenance on PLCs and associated systems.
  • Create, plan, document work performed, and close work orders using the work management system.
  • Ensure compliance with OEM Warranty obligations and safety requirements.
  • Supervise or direct the work of technicians and work crews as needed.
