About The Position

We are looking for a Solar Site Survey Technician to join our solar installation team. The primary responsibility of this role is to conduct on-site surveys for both residential and commercial solar energy systems, assess site conditions, and collect all necessary data to support accurate system design and installation. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of solar energy, construction, and electrical systems, along with a passion for sustainability and renewable energy. Additionally, this position requires quality control and site inspections. The technician will also be responsible for other duties and tasks assigned by management from time to time.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in solar energy, construction, electrical work, or a related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of solar energy systems, electrical components, and residential construction is a plus.
  • Familiarity with roof types, pitch, and materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical certification in solar installation, electrical work, or a related field is a plus.
  • OSHA or safety certification is required.
  • Ability to work at heights and on roofs.
  • Ability to maneuver through attic spaces.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in various weather conditions and on uneven terrain.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical certification in solar installation, electrical work, or a related field.
  • Experience in site surveying in the Solar industry.

Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough, on-site surveys for residential and commercial properties to assess the feasibility of solar installation.
  • Examine the structural integrity of the roof and overall building.
  • Use various tools to accurately measure roof dimensions, pitch, and angles.
  • Document electrical panel details and meter locations.
  • Review the electrical infrastructure of the home, including the main service panel, breakers, and grounding systems.
  • Meet with homeowners to discuss the survey process, answer questions, and review equipment locations.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures while on site.
  • Identify potential challenges during the survey process and work with the design and engineering teams to develop solutions.
