Sol Systems is seeking a Solar Performance Engineering Intern to support the Asset Management Group this summer. The Asset Management team helps Sol Systems and its clients manage their solar investments through technical and financial analysis and advisory services. The team also supports Sol Systems' strategic vision by monitoring the company's direct investments, managing financial exposure from existing contracts, and advising the company on strategic initiatives. The group provides real-world feedback to internal and external stakeholders from technical analysis of its operating portfolio. Sol Systems is a national clean energy firm focused on building domestic energy that benefits local communities. The Company is operating, building, and managing over 7 GW of projects across 38 States for Fortune 500 companies, municipalities, utilities, schools, and more than 40,000 customers across the United States.   • Daily coordination with O&M service providers, equipment manufacturers, software providers, and asset managers to resolve issues and ensure optimal PV project performance
  • Monitor site performance using in-house and third-party platforms
  • Proactively identify, address, and resolve concerns, risks, and questions about system performance
  • Maintain a database of existing solar assets by entering maintenance events, performance data, and validate record integrity by cross-referencing with source data
  • Administer warranty/performance guarantees by ensuring minimum production guarantees are met with regard to the O&M contracts
  • Prepare technical performance reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate inventory of key project attributes including installed equipment, spare parts, and warranty periods
  • Update and improve internal data engineering tools to achieve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability, especially for large-scale performance data and analytics
  • Pursuing a degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • A strong desire to work in the solar energy industry
  • Proficiency with data science and data visualization tools such as Python, SQL, Snowflake, and Power BI is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to succinctly summarize complex technical issues, both in writing and verbally
  • This is a paid internship
  • Compensation will be commensurate with experience
