Overview Cypress Creek Renewables seeks a highly motivated candidate for an opportunity to work on a team responsible for the optimization of a fleet of 2+ GW of solar PV assets across the US. The Engineering team sits within the O&M department under the technical services group. Our ideal candidate is an experienced Solar Performance Engineer interested in furthering their career in renewable energy. The individual will sit within our Engineering team, working to improve our existing data management infrastructure and initiatives within O&M. This team member will be a vital part of the digital transformation work being done in the fastest-growing segment of the power sector.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's and/or Master’s in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • 2-5+ years of solar industry experience
  • Familiarity with aspects of electrical maintenance, including DC systems, AC medium voltage systems, metering equipment, network communications, and monitoring
  • Experience conducting statistical analysis on large datasets and writing SQL queries to work with databases
  • Experience or training in data visualization software such as Sigma or Power BI
  • 2+ years of experience working with Python (or other programming language)

  • The ability to obtain unescorted access for NERC/CIP facilities is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with PV system modeling tools such as PVsyst, PVWatts, or PVlib
  • Experience working with data acquisition systems
  • Familiarity with utility-scale BESS data
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma principles
  • Experience working with R or Pandas for data analysis
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite with an in-depth focus on Excel

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the long-term performance and fleet health of one the leading utility-scale solar fleets in the US
  • Track executive-level KPI's and deliver clear narratives on performance trends and deviations
  • Conduct statistical analysis of historical fleet performance; evaluate ROI of fleet health initiatives
  • Collaborate with CCR Development to provide feedback on future energy models
  • Analyze production and weather data; collaborate with our O&M partners to improve underperforming sites
  • Collaborate with our Asset Management team to fulfill our reporting obligations
  • Lead automation efforts to continually optimize speed and accuracy of delivered reports
  • Read, debug, and modify our Python-based sensor processing code; integrate third-party APIs
  • Collaborate with the Software Development team to deliver a full transformation of our sensor data pipeline
  • Partner with Quantitative Analytics to provide accurate generation data
  • Build dashboards and reporting tools for fleet performance insights
  • Develop SQL views to expose clean, reliable data from the warehouse
  • Create predictive analytics models to proactively identify maintenance risks
