About The Position

Solarado Roofing & Solar is seeking an experienced Solar Installation Superintendent / Project Manager to lead and execute residential and commercial solar projects throughout Northern California. This is a hybrid leadership role that combines field supervision, project management, and hands-on installation work. Depending on project volume, crew availability, and workflow demands, this position will actively participate in solar and battery installations while also managing crews, schedules, quality control, and project execution from pre-install through PTO.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on solar installation experience with increasing leadership responsibility
  • Proven ability to both install and manage solar projects
  • Strong understanding of: Residential and commercial solar PV systems Battery storage systems (Tesla, Enphase, Sol-Ark, etc.) Electrical, structural, and roofing interface requirements
  • Experience managing crews and subcontractors
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, single-line diagrams, and structural details
  • Working knowledge of AHJ inspections and utility PTO processes
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on installation work for solar PV, electrical, and battery systems as needed
  • Lead by example on job sites, setting installation, safety, and quality standards
  • Support crews during complex installs, tight timelines, or staffing gaps
  • Ensure proper integration between roofing and solar installations
  • Oversee multiple active projects simultaneously
  • Manage in-house crews and subcontractors
  • Conduct pre-job site walks and installation readiness checks
  • Ensure job sites are properly staged with materials, equipment, and safety controls
  • Build and manage install schedules based on workflow and capacity
  • Coordinate inspections with AHJs and utilities (PG&E, SMUD, etc.)
  • Communicate daily priorities and weekly schedules with crews and office staff
  • Adjust plans in real time to address weather, inspections, and field conditions
  • Ensure installations comply with: NEC and California Electrical Code Local AHJ requirements Utility interconnection standards Manufacturer installation guidelines
  • Perform quality inspections, punch lists, and final walkthroughs
  • Verify system commissioning, labeling, and operational performance
  • Enforce OSHA safety and fall protection standards
  • Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings
  • Ensure proper PPE and electrical safety practices
  • Document incidents and corrective actions as needed
  • Serve as the primary field point of contact during installation
  • Communicate timelines, progress, and field changes clearly
  • Coordinate closely with sales, engineering, permitting, and operations
  • Assist with warranty, service, and post-install support when required
  • Track project progress, labor hours, and completion milestones
  • Submit daily and weekly field reports
  • Identify risks, change orders, and cost impacts early
  • Support job close-out and final documentation
