About The Position
Become a part of the future of renewable energy with CSS Solar. CSS is a solar subcontractor working on various solar projects across the United States. Solar is the fastest growing industry in the United States and helps lessen our dependence upon fossil fuels. As a subcontractor versus a staffing agency, CSS can offer long-term employment including salaried positions to superintendents and technicians. No experience is necessary, apply now! Jobs are throughout Texas and each will last 12 - 18 months. Ability to travel every year to 18 months is a must. The purpose of this apprenticeship is to train and educate tomorrow's leaders in the solar energy sector. The apprenticeship provides a career path for non-collegiate individuals in search of a long-term career opportunity and path to corporate management. The apprenticeship program includes 2000 hours of paid on-the-job training and 290 hours of paid classroom and educational training over 2 years, culminating in graduation as a Technician. This role requires a high school diploma, being 18 years or older, and an interest in a long-term career in the solar industry through the Apprenticeship track. A current Driver's License is also required, along with any additional competencies or experience relevant to the Apprenticeship track. The work environment involves operating outdoors in solar arrays, using hand tools such as tape measures, wrenches, hammers, drills, rivet guns, shovels, grinders, and rakes. Good organization, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as the ability to convey a positive and professional image to co-workers. The role may require working under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude, and reliable transportation is a must. Extended hours of work may occur, with a single shift lasting as long as 12 hours, and overtime and work on weekends and holidays may be required. Other duties may be assigned as requested.
