About The Position

We are looking for a Distributed Energy Systems Designer to support the engineering and design of renewable energy infrastructure projects. This role focuses on developing technical plan sets, modeling system performance, and supporting the design of solar photovoltaic (PV), battery energy storage (BESS), and electric vehicle charging (EVCS) systems. The position works closely with engineering, development, and installation teams to ensure designs are accurate, constructible, and compliant with applicable codes.

Requirements

• 2+ years of drafting, engineering, or energy system design experience
• Experience with solar photovoltaic (PV), battery energy storage (BESS), or EV charging system design
• Moderate to advanced AutoCAD 2D drafting skills
• Experience using solar design tools such as Aurora, Helioscope, or similar platforms preferred
• Strong proficiency with Excel and Google Sheets
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC) or related building codes is a plus

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain engineering plan sets including site plans and solar array layouts using AutoCAD
• Model solar PV system performance using tools such as Helioscope and Aurora
• Assist with system design calculations for solar PV, battery energy storage, and EV charging infrastructure
• Maintain engineering drawing databases and ensure documentation is current and accurate
• Coordinate with development, project management, and installation teams to support project execution
• Review project details to ensure designs meet technical specifications and code requirements
• Support engineering teams with technical documentation, analysis, and design updates
• Manage multiple design tasks across concurrent projects while maintaining high attention to detail
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive project data
