ABOVE AND BOYOND- SOL TUTOR GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK: Tutors will provide small group and individual instruction in the areas of reading and/or mathematics. Individualized plans to remediate students in reading and/or mathematics through modeling, demonstrating, explaining, reviewing and assessing students' work. The ideal candidate will have prior teaching or tutoring experience. Description: Performs professional work providing teaching to students in general instruction or in a specialized subject or assigned group of subjects. Work is performed under regular supervision. Provides small-group instruction; Provides intervention to students and reinforces skills in math and reading content areas; Prepares intervention sessions to foster academic development; Assesses student progress as directed by the teacher; Communicates regularly with teachers; Attends training as scheduled; EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree preferred or the equivalent with at least 30 semester hours from an accredited institution of higher learning, verified by transcript. Compensation: Teaching License (active or expired): $30/Hour (no more than 24 hours per week) No Teaching Experience or License: $20/Hour (no more than 24 hours per week)
