About The Position

TTL, a steadily growing engineering design firm – now at more than 450 employees strong – is seeking a detail-oriented candidate able to take instruction from supervisors, project professionals, and other technicians on how and what kind of lab testing they need to get the job done. You’ll be tasked with meeting all applicable ASTM and AASHTO standards while performing a battery of tests for density, moisture content, permeability, gradation, consolidation, and strength with regard to soils, aggregates, fly ash, rock cores, concrete, and masonry block. Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent (college coursework or degree preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Clear oral and written communication
  • Maintain accurate recordkeeping and detailed laboratory analyses, reports, and field notes
  • Work additional hours and weekends to complete tasks on or ahead of schedule
  • Comply with all required safety protocol
  • Able to lift and/or move at least 50 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in geotechnical and laboratory data collection software (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Develop skills required for specialized laboratory testing
  • Compile accurate and detailed data, reports, and laboratory analyses
  • Perform calculations using basic mathematical skills
  • Maintain routine laboratory instruments and testing equipment according to manufacturer's instructions and relevant ASTM standards
  • Use correct techniques and materials in accordance with industry standards, (ASTM, AASHTO)
  • Perform or schedule the calibration of testing equipment and maintain official calibration records
  • Respond to AMRL and CCRL proficiency testing non-conformities
  • Perform tests for relevant ASTM's during on-site assessments by both AMRL and CCRL representatives
  • Demonstrate compliance with all required safety protocols
  • Attend or complete weekly safety meetings or topics
