Ready to shape the future of resilient communities? Verdantas is seeking a Soil Technician II to join our growing team in the Temecula, California office . This role supports construction materials testing and inspection services by performing field testing, documentation, and quality control activities on active project sites. The ideal candidate brings hands‑on field experience, strong technical skills, and a commitment to safety, accuracy, and teamwork in a fast‑paced consulting environment.

Requirements

  • Certifications in soil and concrete testing (ACI, ICC, or state‑specific certifications preferred; Caltrans certifications a plus)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic data management tools
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and project documentation
  • Willingness and ability to work outdoors in physically demanding environments, including lifting 50+ pounds
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a team‑oriented mindset

Responsibilities

  • Perform field testing and inspection activities at construction sites, including soil density testing, compaction testing, and evaluation of soil conditions for foundations
  • Document field observations and test results by preparing, tabulating, and submitting detailed daily technical reports for project managers, engineers, and clients
  • Maintain, clean, and calibrate field and laboratory equipment, including nuclear density gauges, to ensure accurate and reliable testing
  • Work closely with project teams to support construction quality and compliance with project specifications
