About The Position

Requirements

• One year of specialized experience at the GS-09 level in the Federal service, performing duties related to natural resource conservation programs.
• Experience providing technical assistance and guidance for conservation programs.

Nice To Haves

• Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a related field.
• Experience collaborating with landowners on resource analysis and conservation planning.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Soil Conservationist responsible for managing agricultural resources.
• Formulate and implement soil and water conservation plans.
• Provide advice and assistance to farm managers and farmers on conservation practices.
• Lead conservation planning activities in cooperation with various partners.
• Supervise federal employees in the field office and act as a liaison between partners and district employees.
• Ensure quality and quantity of work by reviewing subordinates' work.
