The Soil and Crop Modeling (SCM) team is at the forefront of developing advanced simulation technologies that accelerate CNH Industrial's global product development. By leveraging computational tools such as Discrete-Element Method (DEM), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Multi-Body Dynamics (MBD), and System Modeling (SYSM), the team models complex interactions between soil, crops, and machinery systems to improve product design and performance. As a Soil and Crop Modeling Engineering Intern - Hay & Forage Equipment, you will focus on expanding CNH's library of virtual crops to support the simulation of hay and forage equipment such as round balers and disc mowers. These simulations are essential for predicting machine capacity, power efficiency, crop losses, and crop quality—directly contributing to equipment optimization.

Requirements

  • Candidates may be pursuing an Associates, Technical, Bachelor's, or Post-graduate degree in one of the following majors or a related field: Agricultural Engineering, Biosystem Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering

Responsibilities

  • Measuring physical and mechanical plant properties and processing data for use in virtual crop simulations
  • Incorporating plant property values into DEM simulation models of hay and forage equipment
  • Running equipment simulations to evaluate capacity, efficiency, crop quality, and design optimization opportunities
  • Collaborating with engineers to validate models and ensure alignment with field performance
  • Participating in cross-functional team meetings to broaden exposure to the product development cycle
  • Supporting field testing of CNH products, collecting real-world data to validate simulations
  • Spending time with design and test engineers to gain a holistic view of the product development process
