About The Position

Leidos has an opening for a Software Tester Intern to provide Agile DevOps support to mission critical systems starting in summer 2026. You will have the opportunity to work closely with our QA and development teams to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our complex ICAM program. Based on DevOps framework, you will participate in and/or direct major deliverables throughout all aspects of the software development lifecycle. This role is ideal for those who enjoy problem‑solving, exploring how systems work, and identifying issues before users encounter them. Anticipated Intern Program Dates: May 19, 2026 – August 8, 2026 During the summer internship, you must be available to work the duration of late May 2026 through early-August and commit to working a minimum of 30 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelors or masters computer science or other STEM degree program
  • Experience with scripting languages, such as Java, Bash, SOAP UI
  • MUST be a US Citizen
  • MUST have the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI with CI Polygraph clearance

  • Familiarity with ICAM services
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Familiarity with common Agile practices
  • Basic knowledge of software design patterns
  • Proficiency with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Visio, & PowerPoint)
  • Local to the Northern Virginia area to participate in Team Events in person

Responsibilities

  • Execute test cases across web, mobile, or desktop applications
  • Identify, document, and track bugs using tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Issues
  • Assist in regression, functional, and exploratory testing
  • Collaborate with developers to reproduce and resolve defects
  • Participate in daily standups and sprint activities
  • Contribute to test documentation and process improvements
  • Support the Agile software development lifecycle following Program SAFe practices
  • Communicate key project data to team members and build team cohesion and effectiveness
  • Participate in Leidos Sponsored Intern activities (Requires travel to Leidos Headquarters in Reston, VA and Team Office in Chantilly, VA)
