About The Position

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring employees to be in our local office at least three-four days per week. The Software Test Engineer Intern will join a highly effective product quality team, working side-by-side with developers in an Agile environment, developing test cases for a wide range of software components, including user interface, algorithms, and back-end data handling. The position will also include writing or updating test cases, manual execution of tests, and interacting with a variety of electronic equipment in the lab. Besides manual testing, you would be involved in working on test automation which requires coding skills in Python or MATLAB or C++.

Requirements

  • Must graduate between Fall 2026 - Spring 2027.
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or graduate degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or Physics.
  • Must be able to commit to one of the following full internship program periods: May 18th - August 7th OR May 26th - August 14th.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization.
  • Must have reliable transportation to commute to Boston Scientific's Waltham, MA location.
  • Proficient in Python or MATLAB.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior software testing experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of C++ is highly desirable.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • General report writing/documentation experience.
  • A natural attention to detail and a penchant for organizing and documenting.
  • A good learner who can master complex software and quickly adapt to new tools and technologies.
  • Ability to work independently as well as work collaboratively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and execute test cases to ensure the quality of the product by proving system functionality, verifying business and user requirements are met in Electrophysiology domain area.
  • Manual execution of tests or executing automated test scripts.
  • Ensure that tests have been conducted by written procedures.
  • Document test results and write test reports.
  • Record and track defects in a bug tracking system.
