Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Software Test Engineer II to join the Building Control Systems WattStopper engineering Team in Carlsbad, CA. We are seeking a Software Test Engineer to join our engineering team. This role focuses on developing, testing, and automating embedded firmware systems for electronic devices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing, automation frameworks, and programming languages such as C/C#, Python, or similar.

  • Analyze requirements and user stories to develop new test scenarios.
  • Execute both Manual and automated test cases.
  • Develop automated test scripts and frameworks for validating firmware, software and mobile applications.
  • Conduct performance testing, validation, and debugging software systems.
  • Create simulations and test environments to verify system behavior.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation.
  • Investigate and report software/firmware defects and system anomalies.
  • Communicate with cross-functional teams to align with business goals.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in software test tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5 + years of experience in testing embedded software and automation.
  • Proficiency in C/C#, Python, and scripting languages.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git), defect tracking tools, and peer review processes.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
  • Familiarity with network protocols is a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience in Digital Light Management industry is a plus.
  • Mobile application testing is a plus.
