Learn more at tandemdiabetes.com A DAY IN THE LIFE: The Software Test Automation Intern will join the Systems Integration & Test team and contribute directly to the development, expansion, and maintenance of automated test scripts, and tools. This role is designed for a student with a software engineering background who enjoys writing code and solving technical problems. During the internship, the intern will work closely with test automation and development engineers to write and enhance test scripts, extend internal test tools, and support automated end to end (E2E), soak, and stability testing across embedded, mobile, and cloud systems. The role emphasizes hands on scripting and tool development, with limited documentation focused on enabling automation and test execution. Software Test Automation Interns are also responsible for:

Requirements

  • Knowledge, skills & abilities: Able to effectively convey information related to work product in one-on-one conversation or in a group. Able to work effectively in a team environment. Able to alter behavior and opinions due to new information. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Minimum certifications/educational level: High School Diploma or equivalent, required. Post high school technical training, preferred.
  • Minimum experience: Experience with a scripting language such as JavaScript.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and enhance automated test scripts for system level, E2E, soak, and stability testing
  • Contribute code to internal test tools, frameworks, or utilities used by the Systems Integration & Test team
  • Assist in expanding and maintaining automated test setups and lab equipment, including software driven test infrastructure
  • Execute automated test runs, monitor system behavior, and help diagnose failures or instability
  • Debug and fix issues in test scripts, tooling, or test environments
  • Collect logs, metrics, and artifacts to support defect investigation and root cause analysis
  • Complete assigned technical tasks and learning objectives within the defined internship timeframe
  • Ensures compliance with company policies, including Privacy/HIPAA, and other legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
