Atom Computing is seeking a Technical Lead Manager – DevSecOps to drive innovation at the intersection of software, infrastructure, and security. In this role, you’ll balance hands-on technical contributions with team leadership to build and support world-class developer workflows. You’ll work across the full stack—empowering engineers and physicists to deploy software seamlessly and operate our systems with reliability, scalability, and efficiency. Our environment blends on-premises and cloud infrastructure, demanding creative solutions and a passion for operational excellence. Reporting to the Director of Control Systems & Software, you’ll collaborate with a highly skilled and collegial team to help shape the future of quantum computing. Due to the mix of on-prem and cloud infrastructure, this role is required to be in the office in Boulder at least 3 days per week.

  • Lead and mentor a team of 3 to 5 software engineers with specialties in infrastructure, developer experience and security.
  • Drive improvements in KPIs around ease of deployment and developer iteration cycles times.
  • Work closely with Atom Computing’s quantum physicists, optical engineers, and hardware engineers to understand use cases and deliver infrastructure, cyber-security and developer experiences that addresses the needs.
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in leading a small engineering team.
  • 5+ years of post-degree experience as a software engineer.
  • Proven experience leading teams to deliver complex embedded software and infrastructure projects.
  • Skilled in administering and maintaining on-premises Linux servers (and occasional Windows VMs) to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability.
  • Expertise in designing and automating workflows for managing and scaling hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
  • Strong background in building, tuning, and maintaining monitoring, alerting, and performance metrics pipelines across development and production environments.
  • Collaborative mindset with experience optimizing CI/CD pipelines to accelerate software delivery and improve system reliability.
