Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a full time Software Systems Engineer. In this role, you will support the software engineering lifecycle following the program Software Development Plan (SDP) to include requirements analysis, object oriented analysis & design, code & unit test, integration, and support to formal test/delivery. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of languages such as C or C++. Must be a US Citizen; this position will require Final Secret government security clearance prior to starting. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in C/C++ for real‑time/embedded environments
  • Ability to develop and automate unit, integration, and hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL) test procedures
  • Direct experience writing and managing software requirements
  • Ability to capture, trace, and manage requirements using tools like IBM DOORS
  • Ability to work in cross‑functional teams (hardware, firmware, mechanical, mission specialists)
  • Strong written communication for formal documents (requirements, test plans, reports) and oral communication for briefings and design reviews
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • this position will require Final Secret government security clearance prior to starting

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to satellite payload or missile guidance & control subsystems
  • Familiarity with model‑based systems engineering (MBSE) tools such as Cameo
  • Experience with cybersecurity testing (e.g., FIPS‑validated libraries, secure boot)
