About The Position

Rapiscan, an OSI Systems Company is seeking a Software/System Test Engineering Intern, based out of Billerica, MA. Rapiscan Systems, an OSI Systems, Inc. company, designs, manufactures and markets security and inspection systems worldwide. Our products are used to inspect baggage, cargo, people, vehicles and other objects for weapons, explosives, drugs and other contraband. Rapiscan Systems security and inspection devices can be found in a wide range of locations such as airports, border crossings, railway stations, seaports and terminals, government and military installations, and nuclear facilities. We are currently on the lookout for a dynamic, innovative, and out-of-the-box thinking Software/System Test Engineering intern to join us. This internship is not your run-of-the-mill role; it’s a hybrid position that combines two fascinating functions. The candidate will get the chance to work closely with our experienced Software/System Integration Test engineers and dive into a variety of test engineering tasks. The testing activities will be centered around our X-ray security systems, which are used to scan baggage, trucks, and people across various applications. Some of the key project activities will include testing hardware emulators, defect entry and verification, and manual testing. The intern will also collaborate with our Software Engineering organization. This role will require interaction with various engineering disciplines, providing a well-rounded experience. Demonstrate behavior consistent with the Company’s Code of Ethics and Conduct. It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem. Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.

Requirements

  • Candidate must be currently enrolled in a degree program with a major in computer science
  • Candidate must have completed at least two years of the program
  • Familiarity with Windows and Visual Studio
  • Must be able to commit to 10-weeks starting in May or June 2026. This internship is expected to last no longer than 3 months.
  • Must reside within a daily commuting distance throughout the internship.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in WCF and other internet technologies is an advantage
